Position Summary
The qualified candidate will perform duties and responsibilities necessary to support the area to which they are assigned.
 

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires organizational, clerical, and technical skills. This includes data entry, scheduling and the ability to operate commonly used office equipment.
  • Knowledge of Google Suites and proficient word processing is required.
  • Should be able to troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Requires skill in both written and verbal communication as well as the ability to collaborate with other staff members and students.
  • Some positions may require: ELS(PARA) License (ISBE registered in DuPage Co), a valid driver's license, or musical accompaniment skill.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  (Not all inclusive)
 Instructional Supervisor
  •  Assist teacher w/instructional and classroom management including but not limited to attendance, inventory, lab scheduling and grading records.
  •  Responsible for student supervision.
  •  May assist or coordinate mandated school testing.
  •  May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Work with Google Suites, including Google Sheets, Gmail and Google Calendar.
  • Work with SkyWard for purchasing materials.
  • Maintain a record of laboratory experiments and supplies needed for each activity.
  • Set up and distribute lab supplies to teachers as needed.
  • Organize supplies and manage store rooms.
  • Maintain cleanliness of chemical and supply storage areas.
  • General secretarial duties as requested - filing, copying, collating, etc.
  • Act as primary contact for purchasing supplies Contact suppliers.
  • Create purchase orders.
  • Keep detailed records of chemical inventory & purchases.
  • Maintain a current inventory of chemical supplies and make purchases when necessary.
  • Track receipt of inventory.
  • Coordinate with teachers to provide lab set up assistance.
  • Assist with solution preparation and general chemical storage.
  • Preparation of lab set-ups for department members.
  • Clean-up and maintain storage of supplies after use.

 
 

Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as correspondence, surveys and electronic media.
  • Ability to write professional communications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to respond to questions from individuals and groups.
  • Ability to complete mathematical operations and apply concepts of basic mathematics. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to maintain current job skills as directed, especially in technology-related activities.
  • Ability to perform essential duties with an awareness of school district requirements and  School Board policies.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, operate duplicating machines and computer equipment; reach with hands and arms; and will frequently repeat actions with the same hand, arm, or finger motion such as when typing.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  In addition, the ability to withstand long-term use of video display terminals (VDT) is required.
  • The employee may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds such as reference books.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The pace of work tasks would be considered as fast.
  • Work is usually conducted at one job site, however, on occasion, this employee will be required to attend meetings, conferences, or workshops and events at other sites as assigned.
