Your Role:
Engage & Inspire:
Develop and deliver engaging social studies lessons that capture students’ interest and imagination.
Use creative teaching methods to make history, geography, economics, and civics come alive in the classroom.
Individualize Instruction:
Adapt lessons to meet the diverse learning needs of our students.
Provide personalized support and attention to help each student overcome obstacles and achieve their academic goals.
Promote Critical Thinking:
Encourage students to think critically about historical events, current issues, and their role in society.
Foster an environment where students feel safe to express their ideas and perspectives.
Build Relationships:
Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued and respected.
Establish strong relationships with students, understanding their unique backgrounds and needs.
Support & Collaborate:
Work closely with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to provide a cohesive and supportive educational experience.
Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve your teaching practice.
Who You Are:
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, History, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Certified & Qualified:
Valid Ohio teaching license with a Social Studies endorsement.
Experienced & Passionate:
Previous experience working with at-risk youth or in a dropout recovery setting is a plus.
Deep knowledge of social studies content and best teaching practices.
Engaging Educator:
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons that make learning relevant and fun.
Innovative & Adaptable:
Creative in finding new ways to reach and motivate students.
Comfortable using technology and educational tools to enhance learning.
