JOB SUMMARY: The School Based Social Worker at Achieve Language Academy is responsible for supporting emotional and mental health needs of students and staff in a prek - 8th grade building. The School Based Social Worker will work closely with the school students services manager to develop a process for mental health referrals that is accessible and inclusive to all students and staff to identify and provide direct school based services to support their mental health needs. |

Position Purpose: The School Based Social Worker at Achieve Language Academy is responsible for supporting emotional and mental health needs of students and staff in a prek - 8th grade building. The School Based Social Worker will work closely with the school student services manager to develop a process for mental health referrals that is accessible and inclusive to all students and staff to identify and provide direct school based services to support their mental health needs.
- Develop relationships with students and staff by being visible and present in classrooms
- Offer a range of support to students and staff in line with assessed needs, (i.e. small group therapy, individual therapy, classroom support, teacher support for both short-term and long-term needs
- Coordinate care with school and parents/guardians of students
- Consult with school social worker, teachers, staff and parents to identify and assess mental health needs of students and staff
- Complete Diagnostic Assessments
- Participate in CTARS meetings as appropriate and assist with designing, implementing and monitoring of intervention plans
- Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field and working toward professional licensure
- Ability to navigate the education setting and support mental health needs in that context
- Experience in providing effective individual support to students and staff who show signs of stress and anxiety or other mental health needs
- Experience working with and collaborating with a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently
