Building: Edison School 

Position:   EI Paraprofessional | FTE 1.0

SPECIFICS

  • Ten-month position.
  • Not to Exceed 36.25 Hours Per Week (Monday through Friday, when students are in attendance).
  • Located at Edison School.
  • Level VI Salary Schedule. starting salary $19.50
  • Work schedule will be normal schedule as provided for in the Master Agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Shall have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Applicants should have experience and rate high in the following areas:
  • Will have successfully passed the WorkKeys Assessment (per NCLB Guidelines), prior to July 10, 2017, or successfully passed the ETS. Assessment, which replaced the WorkKeys Assessment on July 10, 2017 (per NCLB Guidelines), or completed 2 years of college, official transcripts must be provided within fifteen days of being award the position.
  • You must have the support documentation available to apply for this position.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good public relations skills.
  • Good attendance record is expected.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work around interruptions.
  • Ability to work with a variety of backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, pupils, parents, and the public with dignity and poise.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related information.
  • Ability to perform Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
  • Certified in the C.P.I. training and the ability to implement all stages of the training, including the restraint portion of Crisis Prevention, OR, willingness to take the training and implement procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with the instructional leader and building staff.

DUTIES

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all student, staff, and administrative correspondence.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a prompt and professional manner.
  • In the absence of immediate administrative direction, act in the best interests of students and the school district.
  • Collaborate and communicate with teachers, pupils, parents and the public in an approachable and friendly
  • Perform other duties and assignments as may be directed by administrator, or assigned professional staff
  • Work with other staff in following Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Procedures.
  • Provide supervision as directed by the supervising teacher.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by the supervising teacher, or administrator.
  • Reports To: Building Principal
