Description
E.O. Smith high school is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and thoughtful individual who can contribute to our school’s diversity through their teaching, scholarship, and/or service to the institution.
The Special Services Department is comprised of 46 full-time teaching and related services staff. The new licensed practical nurse will provide one-to-one nursing support to students in our district.
SPECIAL SERVICES
QUALIFICATIONS
- Holds a valid LPN license from the State Department of Health Services to practice professional nursing
- Possess the ability to relate to children with special needs.
- Possess qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with all stakeholders.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures
- Follows medical/emergency protocols and training
- Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid
- Conducts student health assessments
- Implements health care plans and oversees medical charts
- Collaborates with families, school nurses, and school staff
- Communicates with parents and staff regarding health needs
- Provides consultation in educational settings regarding school health needs
- Administer medications within the scope of District policies and state and federal laws.
- Assist with the instructional needs of students as needed
SALARY: LPN $27 per hour; RN $35 per hour
