Description

E.O. Smith high school is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and thoughtful individual who can contribute to our school’s diversity through their teaching, scholarship, and/or service to the institution.

The Special Services Department is comprised of 46 full-time teaching and related services staff. The new licensed practical nurse will provide one-to-one nursing support to students in our district.
 
SPECIAL SERVICES
 
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Holds a valid LPN license from the State Department of Health Services to practice professional nursing
  • Possess the ability to relate to children with special needs.
  • Possess qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
 
 
LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures
  • Follows medical/emergency protocols and training
  • Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid
  • Conducts student health assessments
  • Implements health care plans and oversees medical charts
  • Collaborates with families, school nurses, and school staff
  • Communicates with parents and staff regarding health needs
  • Provides consultation in educational settings regarding school health needs
  • Administer medications within the scope of District policies and state and federal laws. 
  • Assist with the instructional needs of students as needed
 
SALARY: LPN $27 per hour; RN $35 per hour
