Open Position: SUBSTITUTE SECRETARY/CLERICAL ASSISTANCE

General Job Description:

The candidate will provide secretarial/clerical assistance.  Duties could include:  handling phone calls, assisting students, faculty, staff 

and visitors, data entry, and records organization.  The candidate must possess initiative and have a desire to work as a member of a 

team.


Qualifications:

  • The candidate should be personable.

  • The candidate should enjoy working with people and students.

  • The candidate must have excellent communication skills.

  • The candidate should be proficient in modern office and computer skills.  Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace Platform is necessary.

  • The candidate will meet all mandated health screening requirements.

  • The candidate must maintain a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.  Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.

  • The candidate must maintain compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.

Salary

Appropriate placement on the Miscellaneous/Intermittent Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience.  Salary will be $13.00/hr. (Class I, Step 0) Maximum 839 hours per year.  One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.

 

Other Benefits:

School Employees Retirement System and Worker’s Compensation. Upon hire, additional benefits may be offered depending upon hours worked, job classification, and placement on the Upper Valley Career Center Salary Schedule.  Some benefits are a shared cost between the employee and the Board of Education.

 

Performance Evaluation:

Job performance is evaluated according to policy provisions and contractual agreements adopted by the Upper Valley Career Center.
