Power School Information Systems Coordinator (In Person) Job Description
Job Summary
Manages the collection, reporting, auditing, and archiving of PowerSchool student information data for the school system. Interacts with District staff on all facets of the system and solves system issues. Management of student information system and other PowerSchool products, audits of data fields, and training of instructional staff or data managers.
Essential Job Functions
- Act as the main contact person for all PowerSchool-related customer support to any stakeholder (PowerSchool, and all staff)
- Performs annual setup/configuration, which includes but is not limited to the calendar, scheduling, attendance, grades, photo imports, summer school, report card printing, honor roll calculations, and related items
- Organizes and prepares system software documentation, procedures, and operational instructions to use in training and to promote efficient utilization of system software
- Daily training, documentation, and audits of data quality using the approved SIS application. Includes district configuration of instructional standards within the SIS application.
- Responds to requests for data and prepares reports; ensures data quality standards are met in all areas. Helps with the understanding of data fields.
Duties and Responsibilities
- PowerSchool training, support, documentation, and auditing of information. Includes classroom training and video creation for sustainability.
- Performs routine file management tasks including transferring, loading, archiving, and converting data for purposes of managing and securing student information. Installation of plug-ins or patches to enhance the use of the SIS application.
- Support with state reporting for IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, and OH states (Ed-Fi, ISBE, CPS, MOSIS, MARSS, EMIS, and SIF systems)
- Manages the collection, reporting, auditing, and archiving of PowerSchool student information data for the school system.
- Interacts with District staff on all facets of the system and solves system issues
- Support district staff with the following PowerSchool products:
- PowerSchool SIS
- Charter Enrollment
- Schoology
- Any other products
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum
- 2 years of experience supporting a SIS application in a K-12 environment.
- Extensive experience with PowerSchool or comparable SIS applications, audits, and training implementations.
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office and understanding of data exports in various platforms.
- Bachelor degree is required
Preferred
- 6 years of experience using SIS applications in the K-12 environment and Teacher Gradebook management.
- 2 plus years of strong database experience, experience in PC and MAC applications, network administration training or experience, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale multi-task projects.
- Previous work experience providing support with the PowerSchool
Job Knowledge and Skills
- Extensive knowledge and experience with PowerSchool or related student information systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical information to facilitate operations.
- Ability to develop and conduct training sessions for administrators and school staff.
- Ability to prepare reports and ensure data quality standards.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Exceptional project management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including document proofreading and editing skills.
- Ability to master multiple communication methods using social media avenues for communication.
- Exceptional MS Office skills (especially Excel).
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and apply rational judgment to district requirements. Extensive analytical skills and investigation practices supporting schools will be needed.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate the problem and make decisions on a daily basis. The ability to apply logical and methodical approaches to any circumstance is a requirement.
Customer Service
Customer service responsibilities include taking care of any requests for assistance by providing and delivering professional, helpful, high-quality service and assistance before, during, and after requirements are met. Must have excellent client interaction skills at all levels of the district with a professional attitude each day. Past work experience in this area will be required to be a successful candidate.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
