Student Food Service Operator  
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt   
HOURLY: $12.76
2 hours per day
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB 
Under frequent supervision, assists with preparing and/or cooking food items, cleans, sanitizes, and maintains the school cafeteria and kitchen facility following established HACCP procedures and standards for quality and cleanliness. Directly reports to the Cashier or designated personnel at Central Kitchen. Area Site Leads also hold supervisory authority at the discretion of the Schools Supervisor. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Under the department’s HACCP Guidelines:  
1. Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout the cafeteria and kitchen facility. 
2. Wipes surfaces in cafeteria and kitchen facility. 
3. Sweeps and cleans floors in the kitchen facility. 
4. Maintains cleanliness of kitchen, serving and dining areas. 
5. Cleans and sanitizes kitchen, serving and dining areas. 
6. Cleans, sanitizes and stores utensils, pans, serving ware, warmers, carts, cookware, etc. 
7. Picks up and empties trash containers. 
8. Operates a variety of equipment such as cleaning equipment and tools, etc. 
9. Assists food service operators with preparing and/or cooking food items in the prescribed quantity and as scheduled.  
10. Assists food service operators with assembling bag lunches for field trips. 
11. Assists food service operators with assembling and/or preparing daily supper meals, daily after-school snacks and general prep for next day services as assigned by the cashier at the school. 
12. Interacts and communicates with various individuals such as immediate supervisor, co-workers, school personnel, students, etc. 
13. Performs related duties as required. 

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE 
Must be a current Richland One student in the Richland One Works (ROW), Career and Technical Education (CTE), and/or V.I.C.T.O.R.Y. Programs.

Requires food safety certification or obtain within 6 months of employment.  Acceptable certification include: ServSafe and/or HACCP (Hazzard Analysis Critical Control Points).
