Description


Job Summary: Provides school-based therapy that is integrated into the school’s educational program as a means to enhance functioning and attain educational objectives; provides support to the total educational system; assists with problem solving to eliminate barriers that hinder access to educational environments and provides modifications and accommodations to support students in their education program.

Qualifications: Licenses with the Illinois Division of Financial and Professional Regulation

Responsibilites: 

  1. Designs, develops, and coordinates, in conjunction with other team members, the therapy objectives within the educational program for individual students under the therapist’s direction
  2. Provides supervision for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) or Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA)
  3. Implements professional practices and standards associated with discipline (e.g. IDFPR, ISBE)
  4. Implements ECHO’s policies and procedures
  5. Utilizes prevention, promotion, and intervention strategies to support academic achievement and social participation in the educational environment
  6. Contributes to the professional community (e.g. committee work, professional development, and parent support)
FLSA Status:       Exempt
