POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Anticipated Opening for the 2017-2018 School Year
ESL Interpreter/Translator
Salary: $22.00 per hour - On an as needed basis
Qualifications:
• Experience working with parents and other individuals, in a school setting (preferred)
• Ability to accurately translate written materials and interpret verbal exchanges
• Competent in communicating effectively in foreign languages (English/Spanish)
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, teachers, school and district-level administrators, community leaders, agency representatives, media, and others
Purpose Statement: The job of the ESL Interpreter/Translator was established for the purpose(s) of enhancing success of non or limited English speaking parents; enlisting parental involvement, at the school level, in educational programs and activities; providing assistance to schools with the translations of written materials and interpretations of verbal exchanges; and facilitating positive parent relationships.
