REPORTS TO: Early Childhood Teacher and Building Principal
JOB GOALS: TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO IN THE CLASSROOM AND PROVIDE CURRICULUM SUPPORT FOR THE TEACHER.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: 10 month school calendar
SALARY: Based on the bargaining unit contract for non-certified personnel
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Highly Qualified Paraprofessinal Status
2. Experience paraprofessional preferred
3. State of Illinois Paraprofessional License and Official Transcripts
MAIN DUTIES:
1. Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning
2. Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an
understanding of individual students, their needs, interests and abilities.
3. Operates and care for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.
4. Helps students use equipment or instructional materials assigned by teacher.
5. Distributes and collects materials for instruction.
6. Assist the Teacher in the supervision of students at all times during the school day.
This includes, but is not limited to, the arrival and dismissal times, movement physical education, and escorting students to another class
7. Support the Teacher in the implementation of appropriate classroom management techniques, which ensures a safe and orderly classroom
8. Assist the Teacher with clerical tasks such as record keeping, copying materials and maintaining a classroom environment which enhances learning
9. At the request of Administrators or the Classroom Teacher, assist with other school related tasks which will improve the learning environment
10. Other duties such as, but not limited to, diaper change if needed
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy of Support Services Personnel
