There are 6,100 students in nine schools in the school district: six elementary schools (grades K-5), two middle schools (grades 6-8), and one high school (grades 9-12). Qualifications
• Master's degree or higher in reading, special education, or education-related field
• Successful teaching experience (three to five years)
• Valid Illinois Reading Specialist Endorsement or eligibility to receive such Endorsement
• Understanding and knowledge of best instructional practices in reading
• Experience and skill as a coach or mentor for adults on literacy-related topics
• Effective communication and human relations skills
