Substitutes - Teachers, Nurses, Secretaries, Paraprofessionals, Custodial, Maintenance

WELCOME TO WOOD-RIDGE!  Thank you for your interest in substituting for the Wood-Ridge School District.

• If you are already a certified substitute, or have teacher certification, please attach a copy of your certification(s) to this application.
• If you are not already a certified substitute or licensed teacher, please complete the attached "Application for Substitute Certification."    You must also provide original transcripts showing at least 60 college credits.These must be in a sealed envelope sent from your college.  You may have your college forward it directly to the Superintendent's Office.  If you are licensed teacher, you must provide copies of your teaching certificate(s).   The fee for the Substitute Certificate is $125.00, money order or certified check only, (no personal checks are accepted), payable to Commissioner of Education.  However, please do not include the fee for the County Substitute Certificate until you are notified that you will be appointed.  The County Substitute Certificate is valid for five (5) years from date of issue. 
• If you are applying for a Substitute Nurse Certification, you MUST be licensed in the State of New Jersey and must provide a copy of your license.  Please attach your resume as well as your certification & license.    
• All substitutes must be fingerprinted.  You must also pre-pay, online, a $10.00 processing fee, payable to State of New Jersey, at the following website: http://www.nj.gov/education/educators/crimhist/ - Please do this first, before you schedule your appointment for fingerprinting.  Please see the attached Criminal History Fingerprint Instructions.  Fingerprinting must be performed through Idento by MorphoTrust USA company (attachment).  The fee for fingerprinting is $70.25, which is payable when you schedule your appointment, in advance, at the website.  All employees who are relocating to a new district or contract service provider must also undergo another criminal history background check.  Approval letters will be valid only for the district or contract service provider through which the individual made application for employees.
• All substitutes must complete all attached New Employee Paperwork which includes the Oath of Allegiance/Verification of Accuracy Form - which must be notarized.  In addition, you must complete an Employment Eligibility (I-9) Form, which will require you to APPEAR AT THE BOARD OFFICE PERSONALLY with the accepted forms of identification (attachment). You will also need to complete the W-4 so that we may submit that information to the payroll department.
• The State also requires that you provide us with proof of your most recent TB Test.  If you have not yet had this done, please make arrangements and provide a note from your doctor indicating the results of the test.
