POSITION: Nurse Practitioner/APRN – Various Locations
 
REPORTS TO: Principal and Coordinator of Health Services
 
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Performs health assessments and risk appraisals on students within the Hartford       Public School System.
 
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school for registered nurses. B.S.N. required.
Must hold a current nurse practitioner certification and Connecticut State license.
Must have a desire to work with school-aged children.
Must be knowledgeable of school health procedures, including state and Federal mandates.
Successful experience as a school practitioner in previous position is desirable.
Must have own transportation.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
 
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Current CPR certification REQUIRED. Must have a certification of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioner.
 
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
10 month work year (187 days).  Salary in accordance with the July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2015 Hartford Federation of School Health Professionals Salary Schedule, 5C ($60,884-$84,669)
