Description

Summary Serves lunch to students and adults with minimal instruction in accordance with established policies, regulations, and procedures by performing the following duties.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in last minute preparation of food ensuring good quality and quantity
  • Assist in setting up serving line
  • Assist in serving and clean up
  • Ensures cleanliness of kitchen and surrounding areas by cleaning pots, pans, and serving utensils when service is complete
  • Effectively use commercial dishwasher
  • Ensures food items are kept safe, using Servesafe methods
  • Communicates with kitchen manager or lead cook 
 
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience            
One to three years food service experience preferred
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Servesafe certification preferred, but will train     
 
Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands; the employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
 
Terms of Employment 
  • Salary based on Grade A of the approved Food Services Salary schedule as established by the Governing Board.
  • 180 days, 4 hours per day. 

Clearances
  • Criminal Justice/Fingerprint Clearance
  • Measles/Mumps/Rubella Immunity/Vaccination
  • Valid I-9 form
