Our campus is home to Edith Teter Elementary Preschool, Edith Teter Elementary, South Park Middle, and High School. Home of the Burros! Students attend our school from the surrounding towns of Alma, Como, Jefferson, Hartsel, Guffey, Lake George, and Fairplay. Our students and staff enjoy a 4-day school week, Monday - Thursday.
South Park High School is excited to begin accepting applications for an ELA Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Salary is competitive with similarly sized school districts.
Key Responsibilities: *Design and deliver engaging ELA instruction aligned to Colorado Academic Standards. *Teach a range of 9th-12th grade English courses covering literature, composition, grammar, and writing across multiple grade levels as assigned. *Encourage a love of reading and writing through creative, rigorous instruction. *Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students on IEPs, Advanced Learning Plans, Second Language Learners, etc. *Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative tools; provide timely and constructive feedback. *Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment. *Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student learning and school goals. *Participate in professional development, team planning, school committees, and school-sponsored events. *Supervise students during assigned duties and support school-wide behavior expectations and routines.
Qualifications: Required: *Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field *Valid Colorado Teaching License (or eligibility for licensure) with appropriate English Language Arts endorsement *Strong classroom management and communication skills *Commitment to helping all students grow academically and personally
Preferred: *Experience teaching in a rural or small-school environment *Familiarity with standards-based instruction and assessment *Willingness to sponsor or support extracurricular activities or student clubs
