The Springfield City School District serves approximately 7,500 students pre-school through grade 12 in a vibrant learning community of 59,500 residents in west-central Ohio. The dedicated and professional staff includes over 500 certificated staff members and approximately 500 support personnel. We serve our students in 17 state of the art buildings.

Springfield City School District is seeking individuals who are interested in helping assist with transporting students and families thoughout our school district and also if you are willing from time to time to help students during lunch periods in the cafeteria as needed. If you are thinking about starting a career in the school system, working as a substitute gives you the opportunity to see if it is something that you truly enjoy. Being a substitute is a great part-time opportunity.
A successful candidate must:
- Possess a High School diploma or equivalent
- Are willing to obtain a State of Ohio Educational Aide Certificate
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting driver with loading and unloading of students
- Assisting students in proper seating assignments
- The use of proper lifting techniques, safety restraints, wheelchair lifts, etc.
- Assists driver with traveling correct route
- Other duties as assigned
Training is provided by the Springfield City School District at no cost to you.
Wage is $10.00 per hour.
Substitutes are temporary at will employees and work on an as needed basis.
