Title: Teacher Quality Professional Learning Facilitator (TQPLF)

Under general supervision, assists with the coordination and implementation of a district professional learning plan that includes training and professional learning opportunities for teachers that are consistent with the vision and mission of the school district and that focus on student achievement. This position is also responsible for assisting with providing ongoing support to promote the retention of highly qualified teachers and to work collaboratively with selected teachers in their first, second, and third years of their non-renewable teacher certification. The Teacher Quality Professional Learning Facilitator will use data to improve student achievement and understand how to ensure individual student privacy is protected, as required under section 444 of the General Education Provisions Act (commonly known as the ‘‘Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974’’) (20 U.S.C. 1232g) and State and local policies and laws in the use of such data. Teacher Quality Professional Learning Facilitators will have the expertise in analyzing school and student performance data, generate clear and concise data reports and able to provide professional development to schools and staff based on the instructional implications of the data. The Teacher Quality Professional Learning Facilitator will provide job-embedded professional learning support for elementary, middle or high school teachers in core academic subject areas. This is a Title II, Part A federally- funded position and will be funded until the end of the grant period.

Essential Functions:

• Assists with analyzing school and student performance data, generate data reports and provide professional development to schools and staff based on the instructional implications of the data.
• Possesses knowledge and understanding of standards based curricula and research based instructional strategies.
• Possesses experience in modeling effective teacher behavior to adult learners in a variety of settings.
• Possesses knowledge of adult learning theory, change processes, best practices in the field of teaching, training and education.
• Observes teachers to assess instructional effectiveness as it relates to student achievement and teacher quality.
• Serves on district, consortium and statewide committees related to teacher quality as necessary.
• Possesses knowledge of using formative and summative student achievement data to assist with instructional decision making.
• Possesses knowledge of technology integration into instructional lessons to engage students in the learning process.
• Assists with efforts to ensure highly qualified candidates receive professional learning support to serve effectively in the capacity of teachers and make progress toward obtaining
clear renewable certificates.
• Assists with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the district's professional learning activities.
• Works well under pressure and effectively manages and completes multiple tasks with competing deadlines and priorities.
• Provides collaborative support to teachers through problem solving, modeling lessons, scheduling opportunities for peer observations, and conducting mini-training sessions.
• Provides assistance in blending content knowledge and knowledge of differentiated instruction for all teachers and support teachers by sharing materials and strategies to meet the needs of
students.
• Reviews student achievement data and teacher effectiveness data in an effort to assist with the implementation of appropriate professional learning activities to improve instruction within and across schools.
• Performs other Title II, Part A duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university required. 
• Master’s degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university preferred.
• Minimum of (5) years classroom teaching or closely related experience is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS: 
• Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved certificate at level T-4 required.
