Job Title: Coordinator of Staff Effectiveness and Recruitment
FLSA Status:  Exempt
Days of Work: 240

GENERAL SUMMARY
 
 Provides support and coordinates all teacher and staff recruitment efforts and activities for the District. Collaborates with principals, the Human Resources team and other administrators to determine staffing needs. Plans in advance to address critical shortage areas. Works to ensure that all candidates for hire and returning teachers and administrators hold appropriate SC Teacher Certificates.  Manages the Teacher Induction program, collaborates with others to manage teacher  and staff professional development and training. Assists with the screening, interviewing and hiring process.   Reports to the Director of Human Resources.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES (Other Duties may be assigned.)
 
Assists with the development and implementation of the District Teacher Recruitment and Retention Plan.
 
Ensures that the District adheres to local, State and Federal human resource policies and regulations as they relate to the hiring and placement of staff.
 
 Ensures that all contracted, teachers, staff and professional employees are appropriately assigned to a position within their field of certification and placed on the correct salary schedule in accordance with their experience and credentials.
 
Works closely with principals and other administrators to establish the best teacher recruitment strategies for the District.
 
Plans and host teacher recruitment fairs for the District (in- person or virtually).
 
 Attends teacher recruitment events as directed.
 
Works to establish relationships with colleges, universities with teacher education programs when seeking new graduates.
 
 Assists with screenings, conducting initial interviews and evaluating teacher candidates for hire.
 
Collects and analyzes data related to the teacher and staff hiring process.
 
Provides leadership and manages the Teacher Induction program according to State Department and District guidelines and standards.
 
Assists with the professional development plans for teachers District-wide. Maintains records accordingly.
 
Manages the District’s recertification program according to State and District guidelines.
 
Collects data, creates reports and manages the data as directed.
 
Creates correspondence, letters, notices etc.  as needed and directed to keep teachers and all employees informed.
 
Assists with the voluntary and involuntary transfers for the teaching staff.
 
Keeps the of Director of Human Resources informed of data trends, needs and issues related to teacher and staff recruitment and training.
 
Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
 
Interacts with others in a respectful and cooperative manner at all times.
 
Performs all other duties as assigned.
 
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
 
Education and Experience:
 
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master's Degree preferred in Educational Administration, Human Resources or a related field with at least three years of experience as a teacher/principal/school administrator; or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
 
Knowledge:
 
Strong knowledge of Human Resources management, District and School policies that guide hiring practices and training; demonstrated knowledge of teacher recruitment strategies; knowledge of managing and analyzing large amounts of data; knowledge of teacher certification process and the hiring process; Strong knowledge of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, electronic file management, the internet, and reporting and presentation software. Knows how to keep abreast of changes in policy, standards, procedures, and regulations pertinent to Human Resources. Knows how to keep teachers and other staff abreast of standards, requirements, policy changes; knowledge of presentation styles for adults.

Working Conditions:
 
Office/school environment with limited exposure to environmental conditions. Physical demands are restricted to school activities requiring the movement/lifting items weighing up to ten pounds;  local travel required; occasional overnight travel required.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as staffing coordinator or similar position
  • Experience with the SC teacher evaluation model (Expanded ADEPT, SCTS 4.0 Rubric, SC Lead)
  • Experience in planning and execution of HR plans (onboarding, hiring etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of relevant legal regulations (equal employment opportunity, relocation, laws, visa procedures etc.)
  • Knowledge of staffing policies, procedures and best practices
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Reliable with a respect to confidentiality
  • BS/BA in human resources, business administration, education or relevant field
