In August 2019, Mid-State Education District will be opening a new Special Education Facility. This new facility will serve the unique needs of our students with Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), and vocational services/supports for transition age students. Member districts include; Onamia, Pierz, Royalton, Swanville, Upsala, and Little Falls.
We have several special education teacher positions available in the elementary, middle school, and high school, and multiply-impaired classrooms. Seeking teachers licensed in ASD, DCD, EBD, ABS, and SLD.
Mid-State Education District provides high quality staff development to staff, recognizes the value of teamwork, offers leadership opportunities throughout the district, and employs skilled specialists, including school Psychologists, Autism Specialists, and OT staff to provide additional support for students.
POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of these full-time positions are to provide special education and individualized curriculum based on student’s needs in various settings. These positions include interaction with families, staff, and youth serving agencies in order to promote collaboration of educational, mental health needs, and transition plans (return to home district) of students in the least restrictive environment.
Beginning with School Year 2019 - 2020
The preferred, qualified candidates should have a MN Board of Teaching License in any of the following categories: SLD, EBD, ASD, ABS, DCD. The position is for 182 days. Salary is dependent upon education and experience.
