Music Teacher (Vocal/General)
Description
The classroom teacher is the member of the educational team who has the primary responsibility of helping students to maximize their potential through the implementation of the approved curriculum.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Instructional Management
Follows the scope and sequence of the instructional program.
Skillfully presents subject matter.
Establishes and maintains a positive learning environment.
Appropriately plans and develops assessment activities.

Complies with administrative policies within the department, school, and district.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

Valid certification/license as issued by the Ohio Department of Education to teach music is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues and administration. Ability to read, analyze and interpret testing and survey results, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents, agencies, teachers or members of the school community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to administration, staff, public groups, and/or Board of Education.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid certificate/license as issued by the Ohio Department of Education
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program. Ability to plan and implement lessons based on school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication. Ability to use computers for classroom instruction and record keeping. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
