Glenns Ferry Joint School District

Description

Glenns Ferry School District is a small, rural school district in Southwestern Idaho consisting of about 520 students PreK-12 and approximately 62 certified and classified instructional staff members. The district is comprised of Glenns Ferry High School (grades 9-12), Glenns Ferry Middle School (grades 6-8), and Glenns Ferry Elementary School (grades PreK-5). All three schools are housed in one facility. Glenns Ferry School District is dedicated to improving teaching and learning. To accomplish this continuous improvement each school has adopted a comprehensive reform model (High Schools That Work, Making Middle Grades Work, and Reading First) and two initiatives have been implemented district-wide (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol and Improving Teaching with Technology). These initiatives complement each other and build on the same basic principles of continually improving teaching and learning while addressing specific areas of need in the student population.
