Fountain Lake School District
Fountain Lake School District
Description
The Fountain Lake School District is one of seven K-12 independent school districts in Garland County, Arkansas. The district serves an area of 186 square miles and is located north and east of the city of Hot Springs which supports a year round population of approximately 50,000 people. The district is nestled in the Ouachita Mountains and is ideal for recreational camping, all water sports, scenic views, hunting and fishing. Within a 50 mile radius are located many cultural activities, colleges, universities and the state capital, Little Rock. The economics of the area revolve around tourism, retirement communities, the timber industry, health care, and retail. Because of the national forests and area lakes, the Corp of Engineers, Park Services, and timber companies play a vital role in the economy. Hot Springs Village, a controlled access retirement community of 10,000 people, also plays a major role in the economy of the area and particularly Fountain Lake Schools.
