Description

Elkins Public Schools is divided into four campuses: K-2 (Elementary Primary), 3-6 (Elementary Intermediate), 7-8 (Middle School), and 9-12 (High School). The total school population, K-12, is approximately 1070 as of January, 2005. Elkins is located 10 miles southeast of Fayetteville, in Northwest Arkansas. The district has been growing over the years, and is expected to continue doing so. The student population is approximately 92% caucasian and 8% minority, with the largest number of minority students being Hispanic. All schools are accredited by the State without citations, and all are also accredited by the North Central Association. None of the schools are on alert status, or school improvement status, at this time.

Mission Statement

The Elkins School Board, administration and staff believe that education is a continuing process which includes the acquiring, dissemination, evaluation, organization and application of knowledge in a manner which will enable the student to become a useful citizen and live a productive and successful life.
