Elementary School Counselor
Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in Counselor/Guidance.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Preschool/Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
The Elementary School Counselor will provide emotional support and character education to students by establishing social and counseling groups, monitoring and promoting the division attendance policy, and working closely with classroom teachers and special education staff in developing behavior intervention plans to help students acquire strong academic behaviors at an early age. This position will work closely with the Director of Special Education to implement the Child Study process for students suspected of having an educational disability at the elementary level and provide "pre-discipline" counseling in matters of arguments, disagreements, and peer relations.
