Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in Elementary Teacher.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
Seeking qualified teacher to provide core area classroom instruction at the elementary school level. Reports to and is evaluated by the Principal.
Length of employment is 200 days (10 months); contract renewable in accordance with School Board policy and the Code of Virginia.
Hold or be eligible for licensure in Virginia with elementary endorsement Must have passing score on the Praxis II assessment Demonstrated understanding of standards-based curriculum, research-based instructional strategies, and effective assessment practices Ability to model and promote a culture of high expectations for student and staff performance Understanding of continuous school improvement and Effective Schools research Ability to disaggregate and use data to inform instruction Experience working with diverse populations, including students with disabilities, English language learners, students who live in poverty, and students who are gifted Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative/shared-leadership environment
