Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Theatre Arts Teacher to join our high school faculty. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for theatre and a strong commitment to nurturing students' creativity and talent. As a Theatre Arts Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a range of theatre classes, directing productions, and inspiring students to explore and excel in the dramatic arts.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement an engaging curriculum for various theatre classes, including acting, directing, playwriting, and technical theatre. - Instruct students on the fundamentals of theatre techniques, improvisation, voice projection, and stage presence. - Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect for others. - Organize and direct school theatre productions, including selecting plays, casting roles, coordinating rehearsals, and managing technical aspects such as lighting, sound, and set design. - Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students on their performances and projects. - Collaborate with other arts faculty and school staff to integrate theatre arts into interdisciplinary projects and events. - Organize field trips, guest speakers, workshops, and other enrichment activities related to theatre arts. - Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance evaluations. - Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding students' progress and participation in theatre activities. - Stay current with trends and developments in theatre education and incorporate new methodologies and technologies into the curriculum as appropriate.

Additional Requirements: - A portfolio or examples of past theatre productions directed or produced (if applicable). - Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and events outside of regular school hours. - Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth in the field of theatre education.
