Position Title: CDC Special Education -PreK Teacher Reports To: Director of State and Federal Programs

Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for planning and providing developmentally appropriate instruction to preschool children with special needs.

1. Provide instruction for preschool students served in 619 preschool setting. 2. Participate in the decision-making processes concerning students eligible for preschool special education services. 3. Review and complete all IEP paperwork and documentation for students. 4. Ensure compliance with TDOE. 5. Evaluate and assess students to monitor IEP goals and objectives progress. 6. Communicate effectively with the families of students served in the preschool special education program. 8. Collect and interpret data for preschool children with special needs. 9. Communicate with various internal and external audiences concerning program research, practices, and information. 10. Stay current with TDOE policy, especially IDEA. 11. Ensure and implement effective transition services for students served. 12. Strive to enhance classroom environment with inclusive practices and opportunities. 13. Willingness to learn the most effective practices/programs to assist learning processes for student needs. 14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of State and Federal Programs.
