Job Title: 5th Grade Teacher’s Aide Reports To: Head of School Pay: $12.75 Start Date: 2018-19 School Year Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:50 – 1:50. Friday 7:50 – 1:30 Scope of Work: Responsible for supporting the teacher with the implementation of the educational program and enabling students to benefit from educational experiences. Additional responsibilities are to participate in carpool every morning and monitor lunch recess.

Job Responsibilities: Prep (20%) •Assemble bulletin boards as directed by the teacher. •Make copies as directed by the teacher. •Prepare center materials as directed by the teacher. •Assist teacher with grading of papers.

Student Instruction & Achievement (55%) •Assist classroom teacher in implementing a variety of instructional strategies and using technology effectively. •Instruct assigned small groups as directed by the teacher. •Assist classroom teacher with supervision during lessons. •Perform assigned recess supervision duties.

Classroom Management (10%) •Assist classroom teacher in maintaining an organized classroom environment conducive to learning. •Assist classroom teacher in monitoring classroom behavior. •Assist classroom teacher in managing students who are working outside the classroom. •Assist classroom teacher in implementing consistently the school’s behavior plan. Relationship Management (5%) •Maintain positive working relations with students. •Engage in positive conversations. •Develop effective working relationships with colleagues. •Maintain a strict level of confidentiality about students. •Direct all parent questions to the classroom teacher. •Communicate regularly with classroom teacher.

Record Keeping (5%) •Assist classroom teacher with inputting student data (grade book, attendance, etc.).

School Support (5%) •Understand and support school’s vision. •Become acquainted with IB and explain it to others. •Maintain professional competency. •Assist in implementing all policies.
