Nutrition Service Assistant - Donahoe Elementary Kitchen Assistant (6 hours)
Description
A six-hour Kitchen Assistant helps with the physical function of the kitchen which includes food preparation and related activities, meal service, cashiering, record-keeping, and clean-up. This position is also responsible for maintaining kitchen during temporary absence of the SNS Assistant Manager or SNS Manager. Essential Duties • Operates all kitchen equipment • Prepares and portions food • Prepares serving line • Serves food • Must be proficient in all aspects of the computer operation/register • Collects payment for meals • Assists with administration of prepays and student account maintenance • Assists in counting funds, making deposits • Assists with record keeping • Stocks pantry and cold storage with food and supplies • Assists in storeroom and stock management including ordering food and supplies • Participates in daily clean-up of kitchen, equipment, and utensils • Attends work daily and is engaged and on task • Assists with catering • Attends meetings as required • Attends training sessions as required • Fills in for Managers and Assistant Managers as directed • Assists in implementing and enforcing all policies and guidelines • Assists in maintaining standards in food quality, customer service, sanitation, safety, and professional appearance • ServSafe Certified • Performs related work as assigned
