What Spectrum does . . .
Spectrum petitioned the state and will be formally moving to a 4-day instructional week with an alternate Friday next year. This will allow staff to engage in planning, collaboration for personalization, and complete special education documentation. Further, we have significantly increased our teacher pay scales to reflect the unique impact and commitment Spectrum teachers have on their students.
The Secondary Social Studies Teacher at Spectrum Academy has a passion for teaching United States History and Government as well as serving students with mild/moderate disabilities.
1. Implements the assigned program of study. 2. Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning. 3. Utilizes instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time on task. 4. Develops and implements Individual Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with school policy. 5. Monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals on the IEPs. 6. Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis. 7. Meets professional responsibilities. 8. Maintains and upgrades professional skills. 9. Maintains professional work habits. 10. Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships. 11. Adheres to the teacher code of conduct. 12. Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Principal and the Academic Director
Grades 7th, 8th Position Current Courses Taught Utah Studies and Social Studies Additional sections serving students with higher content modifications.
Grades 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th Position Current Courses Taught US Government and US History Additional sections serving students with higher content modifications.
