We are seeking a SPED teacher to join our wonderful team at Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning. We are a K-8, Expeditionary Learning public charter school located in Perry, UT.
Thank you for your interest in teaching at Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning. Teachers here enjoy a very dynamic learning and teaching environment. Students participate in semester-long, hands-on learning expeditions through which core standards are taught. Students learn in multi-age classrooms. First and second grades are together, and third and fourth grades are together, etc. Classroom teachers spend time outside the classroom, in the field, working with students. Fieldwork is essential to the practice of the expeditionary model. Promontory students with IEP's enjoy an inclusion model most of the time. Aides and teachers push into the classroom to offer support. Applicants should become familiar with our charter, mission, vision, and policies located on our website at www.promontoryschool.org. Experience with writing IEP's, behavior plans, and functional skills programs are an advantage to the candidate.
