Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Align with the ISD Mission, Vision, Values and Beliefs and be a proactive advocate for the school. Ensure that students with learning differences (Learning support / Challenge and Enrichment ) are identified effectively through appropriate diagnostic and formative assessment and observation procedures and are referred for support according to the ISD System of Referral Plan and follow appropriate programs of intervention for individuals and groups of students as determined by their learning needs and differences Establish coherent partnerships with target language, English, subject teachers and specialists, acting in an advisory capacity or co-teaching as appropriate so that they feel supported when implementing the program of support Co-ordinate and develop Individual Learning Plans for students in conjunction with class/subject teachers and parents and students as appropriate Support and guide any 1:1 assistants for learning support working within the school in conjunction with the appropriate class and subject teachers Participate in Student Support Team meetings to discuss individual students and their needs Monitor and evaluate the progress of LS and CE students and maintain and update the Learning Support and CE registers Assess and report upon student progress according to ISD agreements Facilitate and promote positive relations between home and school Liaise closely with other members of Student Support Services – Learning Support teachers, Target Language Support teachers, Gifted and Talented/ Enrichment staff and Counselor. Liaise regularly with the Upper School Division Coordinator and Counselor to ensure sharing of relevant information and work collaboratively as necessary in direct intervention with students. Liaise with Program Coordinators as appropriate Liaise with outside agencies as necessary Share in the overall responsibility for the academic progress, personal development, health and safety, discipline and well-being of all students This individual may be responsible for teaching a small number of classes Any other reasonable duties, as directed by the school administration.
