Description
Position Summary: Assist in directing and leading a football program according to VHSL regulations.
Qualifications (Required):
- Must submit to a background check.
- Previous coaching experience at the secondary level preferred
- Ability to interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and the general public
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement practice plans and game plans.
- Effectively supervise all student participants of the football program consistent with King & Queen County Public Schools Policy, as well as the school and athletic policies.
- Follow all KQCPS School Board Policies and Virginia High School League Policies.
- Develop and manage an effective coaching staff for the football program.
- Work closely with the Head Coach, Athletic Director, Principal, and administration to promote a successful program for KQCPS student athletes.
- Promote opportunities for athletic growth, development and advancement opportunities for student athletes in the football program.
- Promote and assist with scholarship opportunities for potential student candidates at the post-scholastic level.
- Be responsible for the day to day operations of a high school athletic team.
Physical Requirements: Average amount of climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions required.
