 INTERIM, FULL TME POSITION FOR THE PERIOD OF 8/3-12/4/2027. 
Job Goal: To teach one or more subjects to students and lead them toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation.
 
Qualifications:

  • Valid teacher's license with appropriate endorsement – must be endorsed in English as a Second Language
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Meets health and physical requirements

 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
  • Adaptability to accepting responsibility for the direction, control, or planning of an activity
  • Adaptability to dealing with students
  • Adaptability to make generalizations, evaluations or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria

  • Ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately
  • The ability to move the hands easily and manipulate small objects with the fingers.

Essential Functions:

  1. Instructs students in subject matter, using various teaching methods, such as lecture and demonstration, and uses audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentation;
  2. Prepares teaching outline for course of study, and assigns lessons and corrects homework papers;
  3. Engages in ongoing professional development to remain current in the use of technology and digital instruction;
  4. Administers tests to evaluate progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of student's progress;
  5. Keeps accurate attendance records;
  6. Maintains discipline in classroom and on school campus;
  7. Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops;
  8. Encourages students to maintain standards of classroom behavior;
  9. Prepares for class and shows evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor;
  10. Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when requested to do so;
  11. Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, board policies and administrative regulations;
  12. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated;
  13. Develops and maintains a classroom conducive to learning;
  14. Represents the school and the community in a positive manner; and
  15. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

 
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with evaluation procedures, policy, and regulations of the Tennessee Department of Education.

 
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer
Posture: Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion:  Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching, frequent walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) Occasional lifting of objects not to exceed 25 pounds.
Environment: Work inside, occasional districtwide travel as requested by administration
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress, may work prolonged or irregular hours
