Job Description: NMS Head Track Coach – Newcastle Public Schools
Position Overview: Newcastle Public Schools is seeking a high-energy, qualified professional to lead the Track and Field program at Newcastle Middle School. The Head Coach will oversee all aspects of the program, develop a competitive culture, foster a positive environment for student-athletes, and promote school spirit. Key Responsibilities: * Manage all aspects of the NMS Track program, including planning practice sessions, determining event-specific training (sprints, jumps, throws, or distance), and coordinating meet operations. Supervise assistant coaching staff and delegate responsibilities effectively to support athlete development.
Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all student-athletes.
Promote teamwork, athletic excellence, and high standards of sportsmanship.
Maintain professional conduct in accordance with district policies and represent Newcastle Public Schools positively.
Qualifications: * Relevant experience in track and field coaching or competing at a competitive level, with leadership or head coaching experience preferred. Coaching certification as required by the State of Oklahoma and the Newcastle Board of Education.
Ability to also work as a classroom teacher is strongly preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, parents, assistant coaches, and staff.
Ability to pass all required background checks and drug screenings.
