Description
Position Summary:
The Targeted Support Coordinator leads the design, coordination, and implementation of instructional supports to improve student outcomes. This role provides intensive, job-embedded coaching for teachers, oversees intervention systems, and ensures effective delivery of low-ratio, high-dosage tutoring. The coordinator also supports Tier 1 special education practices within general education classrooms to ensure access, inclusion, and alignment with district expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intensive teacher support
- Intervention systems coordination
- High dosage tutoring (low-ratio support)
- Tier 1 special education support
- Data & continuous improvement related to RTI2, tutoring and teacher support
Qualifications:
- Current Tennessee teaching license (administrator's license preferred but not required)
- Possess a high level of knowledge of the rules, regulations and laws regarding RTI2
- Demonstrates effectiveness in delivering high-quality Tier 1 instruction.
- Possess a working knowledge of the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program
- Possess a high level of knowledge around the IPG
- Must have an understanding of data-driven instructional decision-making
- Expertise with excel and other data manipulation tools to facilitate analysis
- Ability to interpret policies as related to job functions
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills
- Proficient interpersonal skills
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees
- Ability to perform any physical duties associated with this position (e.g., lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, sitting for long periods of time, walking, seeing, standing for extended periods of time, etc.)
