Must hold a certificate issued by Oklahoma State Department of Education.
The certificate must be in one of the following types: Advanced Professional Certificate, Standard Professional Certificate I.

Job Opening: NECC Counselor Location: Newcastle Public Schools Start Date: 2026–2027 school year
Newcastle Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a qualified and compassionate School Counselor at the early childhood center. The ideal candidate will have experience providing group counseling, character development, and age-appropriate guidance lessons for students in primary grade levels.
Qualifications:
Valid Oklahoma School Counselor Certification (or ability to obtain)
Demonstrated experience or training with counseling strategies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, families, and the community
Willingness to participate in school-wide and community events
Preferred Skills:
Experience in planning and delivering social-emotional learning lessons
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
Familiarity with the ASCA National Model
"Familiarity with play-based counseling, early childhood developmental milestones, and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and multi-tiered systems of support strongly preferred."
