Must hold a certificate issued by Oklahoma State Department of Education.
The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Deaf-Blind, Early Intervention Specialist, Educational Diagnostician, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General), Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment.
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th.
The certificate status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

Newcastle Public Schools is seeking a qualified, dedicated, and student-centered Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is located within a progressive, four-day instructional week district committed to academic excellence and whole-child development.
Minimum Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma teaching certification in Mild and Moderate Certification Required. Highly Qualified in ELA preferred..
Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate and complete student records and instructional documentation.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Job Responsibilities Include: Planning and delivering high-quality, standards-based instruction.
Monitoring and assessing student progress and development.
Managing a student caseload, including the development, implementation, and tracking of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Maintaining up-to-date and accurate records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
Collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff to promote student success.
