JOB TITLE: Child Nutrition Warehouse
DEPARTMENT: Child Nutrition
REPORTS TO: Director of Child Nutrition Programs
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time, 12-month
SALARY: Based on Experience, $14.01 - 16.42 per hour
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or food service distribution preferred. Experience in a school nutrition or institutional food service setting preferred.
Skills: Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse procedures. Ability to operate warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts (certification preferred or ability to obtain). Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Basic computer skills for inventory systems and email communication. Ability to lead and coordinate warehouse staff. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Oversee daily warehouse operations for the Child Nutrition Department, including receiving, storing, and distributing food and supplies.
- Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to school sites.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using approved inventory management systems.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate reorder needs to the Director of Child Nutrition Programs or designee.
- Inspect deliveries for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Ensure proper storage of food and supplies in accordance with health and safety regulations, including temperature controls and rotation (FIFO).
- Coordinate and schedule deliveries to school sites to ensure uninterrupted meal service.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the warehouse facility.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and ensure staff follow proper safety procedures.
- Assist with annual physical inventory counts and audit preparation.
- Coordinate distribution of USDA commodities and other federal or state program items.
- Maintain required documentation for food safety, inventory tracking, and compliance purposes.
- Assist with special deliveries for catering events, summer feeding programs, or emergency situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Child Nutrition Programs or designee.

ATTENDANCE STATEMENT:
Able to be in attendance for assigned work schedule with a minimum of 95% attendance.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Exposure to varying temperatures including refrigerated and freezer environments. Primarily indoor working conditions with occasional outdoor exposure during deliveries.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
Frequent standing and walking. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items consistent with warehouse operations. Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching. Manual dexterity required to operate warehouse equipment and computer systems. Ability to lift and move objects consistent with food service distribution needs.
