JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Assistant Director of Athletics and Activities
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's Degree and Valid Oklahoma School Administrator Certificate is required. A Master's Degree and secondary school administration is preferred. Must possess the experience & ability to function in a variety of word-processing, spreadsheet and database software programs. A valid driver's license is necessary. Employee must be able to walk or stand for 4 hours. Job requires occasional bending/stooping, squatting/crouching, kneeling, climbing, reaching above the shoulder and pushing/pulling. Job requires occasional carrying/lifting up to 35 pounds. Job requires employee to use both hands for repetitive actions involving simple/firm grasping and fine manipulation. Employee must possess hearing and speaking abilities to monitor equipment and communicate with employees, students, and parents. The Board of Education and Superintendent may approve alternatives to the listed qualifications.
CONTRACT: 12 Months (260 days)
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Athletics and Activities
EVALUATED BY: Executive Director of Athletics and Activities
SUPERVISES: Coaches, Athletic and Activities Staff
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in organizing and administering the overall program of athletics and activities for the district.
- Assist in selecting, assigning and evaluating athletic and activities staff.
- Manage scheduling of all athletic and music activities.
- Coordinates and oversees the hiring officials, security, trainers, game workers and ambulance services as required for home athletic events.
- Attends as many home and away events as possible.
- Assists in increasing department revenue through marketing, soliciting financial support, selling, advertising, and promoting fundraising efforts.
- Manages transportation for athletic and music contest participants.
- Communicates with the media as needed and develops and/or increases positive public media exposure locally and statewide for Bartlesville athletics.
- Assists the head trainer in arranging the Physical examination of all athletes prior to the beginning of each school year.
- Serves as ambassador with booster clubs and community.
- Ensures compliance with OSSAA and academic eligibility.
- Responsible for RankOne scheduling and compliance.
- Serves as vendor contact for the athletic department.
- Responsible for cash drawer set-up at the beginning of the year and reconciling after events.
- Meets with and responds to inquiries from parents, coaches, and administrators.
- Attends meetings as assigned including FVC, NEOADA, OIAAA, and school board meetings.
- Must have general knowledge of athletic facilities including clocks, scoreboards, and sound.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the High School Principal or Superintendent.
