Job Opening: NPS Secondary Counselor Location: Newcastle Public Schools (secondary site TBD) Start Date: 2026–2027 school year
Newcastle Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a qualified and compassionate School Counselor at the secondary level. The ideal candidate will have experience providing group counseling, character development, and age-appropriate guidance lessons for students in secondary grade levels.
Qualifications:
Valid Oklahoma School Counselor Certification (or ability to obtain)
Demonstrated experience or training in early childhood counseling strategies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, families, and the community
Willingness to participate in school-wide and community events
Preferred Skills:
Experience in planning and delivering social-emotional learning lessons
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
Familiarity with the ASCA National Model
Familiarity with credit checks, graduation requirements and ICAP strongly preferred
