Technology Support Technician
Salary: $44,404.00-$67,699.00 (Commensurate with Experience)
Description
The technician will have comprehensive knowledge to support, maintain and repair all types of devices used in or connected to the Division network by its end-users. This includes all computers, printers, phones, copiers and other devices or applications that may be introduced to the network. Also to have a familiarity with hardware, software and networking of devices in a LAN, WAN and wireless environment.

Qualifications
- A+ Certification - Hardware/Software Support preferred or at least 1 year of experience
- N+ Certification - Network Support preferred or at least 1 year of experience
Performance Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for all technology department managed devices at the site to which they are specifically assigned.
- Plan for the timely imaging, inventorying, and setup of all computers at their assigned site. This includes the transporting of all computers to the assigned site, the design of the physical location set up in the classroom or labs to provide for maximum use of space, assures that adequate support resources, such as power, are available, and assuring clean connection to the available networks.
- Collaborate with the Director of Technology and Network Administrator in the timely replacement of devices at their assigned site.
- When necessary, provide technical, troubleshooting, and other assistance across all sites
- Perform network-related tasks under the technical guidance and leadership of the Network Administrator (serving as the division's lead technician) and the supervision of the Director of Technology, including support for project-based assignments such as:
- Cabling and installation of network drops, VoIP setup, Wireless access point installations, Installation and configuration of network devices (e.g., switches, routers, phone switches, servers, server cabinets)
- Deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of network applications, including Active Directory
- Troubleshoot, research, and resolve LAN, WAN, and wireless issues at assigned sites in collaboration with the Network Administrator.
- Provide division-wide technical and troubleshooting support as needed, including during cross-site infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical support for all testing at their assigned site
- Provide technical support to the cafeteria computers, interacting with Food Services technical support when needed, at their assigned site.
- Assist with the 1:1 program. This includes imaging and configuring all computers (approx. 700 units), inventorying, labelling, transportation and distribution and collection of all units. It also includes printing checkout sheets for each unit.
- Assist in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of 1:1 device.
- Keep the Director of Technology informed of the needs for the parts inventory to ensure parts are available for repairing devices. This also includes salvaging and inventorying of parts for use in repair.
- Assist the Director of Technology with yearly budget preparation.
- Collaborate with the Director of Technology and the Instructional Technology Resource Teacher on the development of the Division's Technology Plan.
- Assist Instructional Technology Resource Teacher with troubleshooting all interactive devices and related software applications.
- Assist Instructional Technology Resource Teacher in installation and replacement of all interactive hardware.
- Assist in training staff and students at their assigned site.
- Work to help all members of the Technology Department build an efficient and effective Technology Team.
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

- Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Terms of Employment
Contract Length – Twelve Months
FLSA Status-Non-Exempt
Salary to be established by the School Board in accordance with Classified Employee pay scale.
