Position Overview: Newcastle Elementary School, part of Newcastle Public Schools, is currently seeking a dedicated and dependable Paraprofessional for the 2025–2026 school year. This individual will work closely with classroom teachers and support staff to assist in the instruction, supervision, and care of students in a variety of settings. Newcastle Public Schools operates on a four-day school week.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support certified teachers in the delivery of instructional and behavioral support to students
Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning objectives
Assist with classroom management and organization
Provide supervision in the classroom, cafeteria, playground, or during transitions as assigned
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or behavior plans as directed
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Must meet one of the following per federal requirements:
Completed at least 48 hours of college coursework, or
Hold an associate’s degree or higher, or
Successfully passed the Oklahoma General Education Paraprofessional Assessment (or be willing to obtain within a designated time)
Ability to work effectively with children and follow teacher guidance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a school or child care setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
