The certificate must be in one of the following grades: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The certificate status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

Job Description: Newcastle High School is seeking a qualified, dedicated, and enthusiastic Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. The successful candidate will inspire students in areas such as nutrition, culinary arts, human development, financial literacy, and other life skills essential for personal and family success. The teacher will be expected to create a positive learning environment, provide engaging instruction aligned with state standards, and support student development through both classroom and career-focused opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards for Family and Consumer Sciences
Instruct students in areas including but not limited to culinary arts, child development, interior design, financial literacy, and personal wellness
Maintain an organized and safe classroom and lab environment
Assess and monitor student learning and growth
Integrate project-based and hands-on learning strategies
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional learning communities
Maintain accurate and complete records as required by district and state policy
Promote career readiness and potentially support FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) student organization
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement in Family and Consumer Sciences
Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences education or a related field
Demonstrated ability to establish positive rapport with students and engage them in meaningful instruction
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching Family and Consumer Sciences in a high school setting
Willingness to sponsor or co-sponsor FCCLA
Knowledge of current instructional technology and its application in the classroom
Schedule: Newcastle Public Schools operates on a 4-day instructional week (Monday–Thursday).
