Job Title: Visual Tech – Marching Band
Position Summary:
The Visual Tech works closely with the band director and instructional staff to develop and maintain high standards in marching technique, posture, movement, and overall visual performance. This individual assists with teaching marching fundamentals, cleaning drill, body movements, and integrating visual elements to enhance the ensemble’s overall performance quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach and reinforce marching fundamentals (e.g., posture, step size, direction changes, and horn carriage).
• Assist in teaching and cleaning drill and body choreography.
• Provide individual and group feedback on visual performance during rehearsals.
• Collaborate with the band staff to ensure visual elements align with musical goals and show design.
• Monitor student progress and help maintain a disciplined and focused rehearsal environment.
• Attend rehearsals, band camps, performances, and competitions as required.
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student performers.
Qualifications:
• Prior marching experience required; experience with DCI, WGI, or college marching band preferred.
• Strong understanding of marching and movement techniques.
• Ability to work well with high school students in a team-oriented environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and communicative.
