Description

Description: This Behavior Intensive Functional Skills classroom is part of our student-supported classroom model. Students in this class demonstrate increased need for instruction regarding self-regulation skills, adaptive skills, and academics. They benefit from a learning environment that emphasizes positive behavior interventions. The teacher will be working mostly with behavior management systems and supporting classroom instruction in other academic areas as aligned with the Utah State Essential Elements Core Standards. A Special Education license or current enrollment in a SPED program is required. Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis is strongly preferred.

Essential Functions: Implements the assigned program of study. Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) - classroom organization systems, visual schedules, modified seating, transition supports, etc. Utilizes instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time on task using strategies including level system, token economy, and positive reinforcement. Follows behavioral interventions in the student’s Behavior Intervention Plan with fidelity and takes accurate data. Develops and implements Individual Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with school policy. Monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals on the IEPs. Communicates effectively within the educational team and with parents on a regular basis. Meets professional responsibilities. Maintains and upgrades professional skills. Maintains professional work habits. Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships. Adheres to the teacher code of conduct. Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Principal, Behavior Services Coordinator, and the Regional Director Conduct transition assessments. Provide transition instruction. Draft annual transition plans. Reports to: Building Principal

Compensation: $50,216.00 - $87,741.00 per year*

*Contingent/offered based on appropriate licensure and experience. This position is also eligible for an additional $10,350.00 in educator salary adjustment pay which is determined by a valid, current state license per Utah Code 53F-2-405 and licensure remaining in good standing.
