English Language Support Aide - Uintah School District

POSITION: ENGLISH LANGUAGE SUPPORT AIDE ~ UINTAH SCHOOL DISTRICT
(UP TO 29.5 Hours PER WEEK, VOUCHER POSITION, NO BENEFITS)

• Relate positively with students, staff, parents, and community;
• Manage the EL curriculum and software;
• Update EL student cumulative files;
• Assist with WIDA assessments;
• Work cooperatively with schools to ensure EL students are provided with a favorable learning environment;
• Provide English language tutoring and support to students and staff;
• Monitor student language proficiency growth and academic achievement;
• Create Cultural Integration between schools and the community;
• Other duties as assigned by the district administrator.

 Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent;
• Native or near native English fluency with excellent grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation;
• Demonstrated ability to assess language needs;
• Exceptional computer operation skills (Word, Excel, other software programs, etc.);
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team;
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.

• Copies of college transcript(s) if applicable;
• Cover letter explaining clearly how you qualify/meet district expectations for the position;
• A minimum of three letters of recommendation, including at least one from a direct supervisor (does not have to be a current supervisor), which addresses the candidate’s skills at working effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members:
• Current type test (within the past two years) showing 50 wpm or more.
