Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Special Education (K-12+) (Level 1), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 2), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 3), Special Education (K-12+) (ARL).
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General).
The license must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

Description

te Entrepreneurship Academy seeks a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher with a Severe/Profound credential to provide individualized instruction and support for students across the disability spectrum, with a primary caseload consisting of mostly mild/moderate needs and select students requiring severe/profound services. The ideal candidate will be committed to inclusive, student-centered practices that promote academic growth, independence, and social-emotional development.

Duties and Responsibilities

*Serve as the case manager for a blended caseload of students with mild, moderate, and severe/profound disabilities, ensuring all IEP services are implemented with fidelity. Majority of caseload are mild/moderate. *Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with IDEA and Utah State Board of Education (USBE) guidelines. *Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet the unique needs of students with a range of abilities, using evidence-based practices for functional academics, life skills, and grade-level standards. *Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, and functional areas in both pull-out and inclusive settings. *Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and paraeducators to ensure student needs are met across learning environments. *Design and manage individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with intensive behavioral needs. *Supervise and train assigned paraeducators in the implementation of accommodations, interventions, and data collection procedures. *Administer alternate and standardized assessments (e.g., DLM, UAA, benchmark testing) and use data to inform instruction and progress monitoring. *Engage in meaningful communication with families regarding student progress, goals, and support strategies. *Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, re-evaluations, and eligibility determinations.
