Position Overview:
The Speech-Language Pathologist and Assistive Technology Lead is responsible for evaluating and providing therapy for students with communication disorders, while also coordinating assistive technology services and support for the division
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Valid Virginia license in Speech-Language Pathology
Strong knowledge of speech, language, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures
Thorough understanding of special education laws, including IDEA and Section 504
Familiarity with assistive technology tools and their application in educational settings
Ability to develop, implement, and report on individualized therapy plans and evaluations
Proficient in using technology to support therapy and instruction
Demonstrated ability to effectively instruct and support students with speech and language disorders
Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and collaborative problem-solving approaches
Ability to travel between work locations during the school day; must hold a valid driver’s license
